All long-term usage of NSAIDs may result in renal toxicity or hyperkalemia 

RFT monitoring may required:)

1. Celebrex

indications: orthro/ acute pain 

side effect: constipation, headache

max:400mg daily 

2. Arcoxia  (etoricoxib)

Indications: gout / arthirits 

Side effect: Nause & vomiting, headache

max: 120mg/day (for 8days treatment) 

Toxicity: increase risk of irritating stomach lining 

3.Voltaren (emulgel)

Indications: local treatment of pain/ inflammation (swelling)

Side effect: dermatitis, allergies 

** Topical: tds or qds rub in gentle

    Suppository : PV after gynecological surgeries e.g. THBSO

4. Ketoprofen (orudis)

indicatoins: for orthro cases

S/E: stomach upset/ dizzy 

dosage: 20-50mg ( max:300mg/da)

** renal , hepatic impairment when overdose 

5. Dynastat 

Indications: severe pain/ post-op pain

dosage: IV/IM 40 mg (Max: 80 mg/day)

side effect: nausea, dizzy, insomina, aggitate

(no driving!!)

6. Aspirin (salicyclic acid/ antiplatelet)

e.g. Cartia 

indications: stent implantation 325/2 hr preload > 160-325mg/day

                    Myocardiac infarcton(MI) 75-325mg/day 

                    pain+fever :325-650mg 4-6hrs

max: 4g/day 

Side effect: GI disturbance, proloanged bleeding, epi discomfort, heartburn

7. Ibuprofen 

indication: dysmenorrhea (P.O. 200-400mg/4-6hrs) >> max:1.2/day for 10days OTC

                  fever  (P.O. 200-400mg/4-6hrs) for 3 days

                  osteoarthritis  (P.O. 400-800mg/3-4 times a day)>> max: 3.2g /day 

side effect: hyperkalemia, edema, GI upset 

8. Naproxen (inza/ Soden)

indications: dysmenorrhea (PO: 500-250mg/ 6-8hrs) >> max 1.25-1g/day 

                    Rheumatic/ acute gout 0.5-1g/day 

Side effect: peripheral edema, CHF, palpitation, GI upset  

monitor: BP/ RFT/ CBC for long-term usage

9.  mefenamic acid (Ponstan)

indications: post-op pain/ dysmenorrhea/ osteoarthiritis

PO 500mg tds

Side effec: CHF, N&V, Hypotension, peptic ulcer

monitor: CBC, LFT, RFT, BP

10. Indocin

indication: Acute RA / Chronic rheumatic disorders/ Acute musculoskeletal disorders/ Patients w/ persistent night pain &/or morning stif

PO:500-200mg/day 

side effect: headache/ light headness/ epi discomfort
