皮質類固醇Corticosteroid 

此類藥物可解除體內發炎反應，減弱腫脹、紅 腫、搔癢及過敏等反應。可用來治療多種疾病， 如皮膚病、氣喘、風濕性關節炎等. This type of drug is for strong anti-inflammatory effects and related to immune system function.  也可用於治療腫瘤、過敏、氣喘和腎上腺皮質功能不全等疾病。另外，它可以協助預防及治療器官移植所引起的排斥作用，並防止移植時所帶來的發炎反應。

使用方法

1. 遵照醫生指示服用，不可自行停用或更改劑 量。

2. 可能引起腸胃不適，應與食物一起服用。

3. 服用高劑量時，在用餐之間可給予制酸劑， 防止胃潰瘍。

**長期服用應注意:應定期作血液、X 光、眼睛、血壓、 身高、體重等檢查。**

副作用 :可能引起噁心嘔吐、腸胃不適，應與食物或牛 奶一起服用。 主要副作用引起浮腫、血壓上升， 

1. Prednisolone

Uses:  Allergic and inflammatory disorders, Inflammatory joint diseases, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, Ophthalmic Inflammatory eye disorders.

max: 5-60mg daily 

Nx: Monitor blood pressure, blood glucose, bone mineral density, electrolytes, intraocular pressure, weight, etc. 

1% prednisolone acetate suspension

Inflammatory eye disorders Instill 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac 2-4 times daily

2. Dexamethasone 

Uses:

 Intra-articular
Inflammatory joint diseases

Intravenous(IV)
Cerebral edema caused by malignancy

Prophylaxis of nausea and vomiting associated with chemo therapy
Unresponsive shock
Bacterial meningitis

Ophthalmic
Ocular inflammation

Oral (PO)
Anti-inflammatory
Acute exacerbations in multiple sclerosis
 

maximum dosage: 2-100mg/day 

S/E: Growth retardation (for long-term use), osteoporosis, peptic ulcer, glaucoma, and subcapsular cataracts, etc
